Fantastic shed…really lovely.š

I am.totally and utterly over the moon with this shed now its up.Arriving in one large box, this shed took two none DIYer a total of 6 hours to put together stopping only to have something to eat.Instructions were easy to follow and each step was explained very well with numbered parts and screws which helped.Everything slotted together nicely and the tool supplied helped with this process enormously.I must admit I was quite concerned at first when 3 of the walls were in place and the structure was flapping about in the wind…but you have ti trust the process as it all came together nicely in the end , resulting in a solid feeling, stable shed that’s completely waterproof. The fact that you can choose the location of the window is a huge bonus feature I wasn’t expecting but a nice surprise.I would suggest you buy or borrow a electric screwdriver for the task and some ladders or something to stand on when fitting the roof would be helpful too.All in all this is a lovely shed, easy to construct and totally maintenance free once constructed.Highly recommend š

Excellent shed, long build

Iām really pleased with this shed, especially at the price of Ā£460 that I paid for it (it was nearly Ā£1200 when I looked before posting this review, so watch the price if youāre thinking lf buying it).It takes a long time to put together and is definitely fiddly at points. You cannot do this on your own – for a while there were 3 of us working on this, although the roof was done with 2 the next day. There are an awful lot of screws to put in and quite often the drill wouldnāt do it so a hand screwdriver needed to be used, at least to start them off or tighten them at the end. The screws that have to go through metal are particularly tricky. My main tip for anyone would be when you think a piece is pushed in all the way, use a block of scrap wood and firmly knock it with a hammer/mallet – I found out the hard way that pieces werenāt flush even when you thought they were without doing this! However all the pieces are clearly labelled so itās easy to be sure youāre working with the right part and fixings at any time, including labels which show way up pieces should be.The size is good so itās really useful for storing lots in an organised way, Iāve been able to put up 2 large shelving units inside and still have lots of floor space for other things. If youāre careful everything fits together well. The tolerances are very small so you do need to be precise and careful with the pieces. Considering how light and even flimsy the plastic pieces feel when you take them out of the box, when itās all together it feels very sturdy and the plastic material feels durable, including the roof.I canāt comment on waterproofing yet as it rained while putting it together but not since the roof went on (typical) but thereās nothing that makes me think there will be an issue.

Tricky to put the roof on but seems sturdy
Base and walls were relatively easy to put together. Roof was a pain and needed three people at one point. Building on a level surface is important. We were building into a corner so wouldn’t be able to get the screws into the hidden sides, but the whole thing is just light enough that you can move it around while its empty and slide it to where you need it.The floor is pretty squishy – anything heavy will dent and flatten it, anything sharp will pierce it. We had a sheet of 12mm OSB spare so trimmed it to fit. You probably want to price this in if you’re going to be storing tools, gardening equipment, freestanding shelf units etc.Since putting this up a couple of weeks ago we’ve had plenty of rain and some of the worst storms in decades but the shed has held up fine. What I’d do different next time -1. Only put in enough screws to hold it together until you can get the roof on. There were sections that looked level but would clash when the roof went on. I ended up taking 3/4 of the screws out, re-jigging it, then putting all the screws back in once it was where it needed to be. Thankfully the plastic is pretty forgiving.2. Add the roof trim to the roof panel but don’t screw it down until its on the base. If you align and screw the roof trim on first, to where you think it needs to be, it will likely not align with the base. Keep it loosely fitted, lift the roof on, align the roof trim to the base walls so it all fits, then secure the trim to the roof and the walls below. Because access will now be tricky you’ll need a right-angle drill bit to do it this way.

Great Shed – Easy to Build
Our old wooden shed had long since seen its best days so we spent sometime emptying it, moving the contents to our garage and dismantling it for the tip. We then settled on this new Keter shed (6×8) as it was the same size as our old one and had decent reviews too.We read the reviews and watched some YT videos before starting. Firstly, I would say assemble it on a dry day and not too windy. Despite checking the weather beforehand we were hit with some strong winds and downpours throughout the afternoon which delayed us a little. It certainly takes 2 people to build, even if the only thing the other person does is to support the panels during assembly. My wife and I, both in our 60s, took from 10am to 6pm to fully build this – but as I said we were hampered a little by the weather.OK onto the build itself. Its quite straightforward to erect, but these are some of my tips that may help others:1. There are a lot of screws, and I mean a lot – different shapes and uses. So make sure your drill batteries are fully charged before commencing. I got through 2 full batteries throughout the day.2. The instructions are constantly reminding you to make sure the panels are fully in the grooves when building. So I used a nylon hammer to tap the edges to ensure everything was completely together before screwing parts together, even after each screw, just making sure everything stayed together. Tap tap tap constantly.3. Some of the screws were self-drilling for connecting the metal parts. When there was a guide hole this was straightforward but some were difficult to get to bite. So I a few times I had to drill a small pilot hole to get the screw in.4. The dreaded roof. Getting the roof on is the most difficult part, but as long as all panel connections are snug as previously mentioned it shouldn’t be too hard. When connecting the trims to the roof I had to make sure the 4 smaller pieces were tapped down as far as possible to the edge. If they are too central they will catch on the cross member of the roof and it won’t fit. After I did this the roof went on quite easily – oh and the puck was really useful for this bit and the only time I really used it.All in all it’s a great shed and fits perfectly where our old shed used to be (6×8). We just have to put all our stuff back in now.

Great value
Great value shed,6 hour build by myself just needed help placing roof on. To make things easier i drilled 1mm pilot holes otherwise you will find the screws take abit of pressure to go in and can be awkward. Light enough to move into place, waterproof. At the price of £479 it is half the price of a timber 8 x 6 shed,no maintenance and looks really nice.

Impossible to put together
We made a massive mistake buying this shed and it certainly isn’t cheap. We have found it absolutely impossible to fit the roof on it and tried for days trying different things like taking corners off roof, securing different sides first,im it simply does not fit and we are sadly losing the will to live. It’s now blown across the garden because we couldn’t manage to secure the roof, surely it could have been designed better than that, we haven’t even got to the doors yet which upon reading reviews are difficult as well. This is probably over Ā£500 of scrap unless we adapt the roof ourselves somehow. Tried to contact keter customer services but you cannot even access their online form. Wish we hadn’t bought it and got a wooden one.

Good shed but….
The shed was delivered with a window containing a number of scratches and 4 missing screws, unfortunately there is no way that I can find to contact the manufacturer to get a replacement window or extra screws.Building the shed was generally not too difficult until it gets to putting on the roof. Two hours to get that on, yikes. It became very apparent to me that during the build the manufacturer had not taken into account the the end user. Most of the holes in the metal sections are not drilled so you have to drill them yourself. In addition, the doors could have been sent with the frames already built, there is just no reason that I can see for them not to be, they would still all fit in the same size package.

Not Quite 8×6 but good quality shed.
Excellent plastic shed, pretty simple to put together if you follow instructions fully. Roof was the hardest part to put on. Just make sure walls are square and itās on a level surface. Floor felt a little flimsy but used a sheet of OSB wood to support the floor. When completed I was surprised to see that the shed measured 7 1/2 feet by 5 feet 8 inches so a bit smaller than the advertised size.

I’ve managed 3/4 of putting up the shed but definitely need 2 for final phase. All in all a good shed. Very pleased.
